Senior Session Information - imagesbykathryn

Your Senior Session

Once we have booked a date for your photo session, we will begin to chat about location. I am an on-location photographer, which means I go to you: your house, a beach, a park, downtown,  a mountain trail ~ the options are endless!  We can talk by email, text, telephone or in person, but we should have some conversations prior to your session.

My backdrops are the natural beauty of Washington State. Different locations look better and have better light at different times of day, so I may have suggestions for you regarding location and times. I love natural light photographer (with some lighting as needed), so most of my sessions will take place in the morning or late afternoon.   Late afternoon has the prettiest light which I love to shoot in.  If you see a picture in my galleries that you especially like, just ask me and I can tell you the location and time of day it was taken.

Sessions usually last 1-3 hours, depending on the number of locations, how many breaks we need to take and number of clothing changes. I do not rush sessions and will keep taking pictures right until the very end. Sometimes the last picture is the best one. Please take a look at the Senior Session Packages as there are different prices/packages depending on the amount of time for the session and the number of clothing changes.

I am located in Sammamish, and I have done sessions all around Sammamish & Issaquah, Seattle, Redmond, Fall City, Mercer Island, Kirkland, Bellevue, Snoqualmie, North Bend,  Alki Beach, Gas Works Park, Golden Gardens Beach.... Your favorite location may become mine too.

After your session, I will individually edit or proof all the best images and put them into an online gallery for you. The gallery will be ready in 7-17 days. I will notify you of your gallery being ready by email or telephone.Your personal gallery is password-protected so you can share it with your friends and family but know that your images are secure.

We can have an in-person or telephone order meeting after you have viewed your images. I will contact you about a week after you receive your gallery information to set up an appointment.

Galleries are online for 90 days. If you need more time to order and have the gallery up longer, there is a $25 charge. If you have any questions at any time about the session or post-session, please email or call me!

What To Wear

Keep it simple! Stay within your style and what you are comfortable in. Jeans with a great colored t-shirt, a simple sundress, layered outfits with a tank under a sweater topped with a scarf. These are all great choices.

Jewel tones can be gorgeous and usually look better than plain white. Fabric with texture is also better than shiny fabric.

Different accessories such as scarves, hats, jackets, vests are great to bring along to give a change of pace and look. Bring as many clothes as you want and we can go through them together to pick out the best look for you.

A dressier outfit can look so good in a grungy urban setting.

I love hats & hoods.

Bare feet might be requested by me in certain locations or wherever you want, weather permitting of course. But amazing shoes are never wrong.

I do love t-shirts that have a fun saying, layering a jean jacket over a sundress, adding a great sun hat, letting your scarf blow in the wind, an amazing pair of red shoes or your favorite Converse, a pop of color with a vest or socks, highlighting your grandmother's necklace ~ those things individualize your pictures and make them about YOU.

If you have a Letterman Jacket, sport uniform, musical instrument, pompoms, dance shoes, your favorite sports team hat or a special club outfit: bring it and we can incorporate those into your pictures.

I have some Pinterest Boards which have some ideas for Senior Photo Sessions.
